Zane Schweitzer will join 2XWorld Champion Kai Lenny, and Bernd Roediger this year at the Stand Up Show Down and Race up the Rogue River this June the 10th through the 17th. I am adding $3,000 to the purse. $750 of that will be paid out to the finalist in the trials. At Sunset Pro I talked with a few of the west coast guys and hope to recruit some of top talent to give those guys a run at my money.
Last year the Wave Bash with the SUP event was epic. With the race it's got to be over the top this year. I'm thinking this pretty much makes The Stand Up Showdown at the Beachcomber the premier Stand Up Paddle Event on the mainland until the World Tour hits California. A chance for the real watermen to step forward with a sup race, surf contest and the AWT wave sailing event. I think this may be the only event with all three disciplines.
